Rubber Product Questions, Answered Before You Order
Use this page to prepare a clearer RFQ, compare materials and processes, and understand what WeProFab needs before a rubber sheet, profile, gasket, molded part, or silicone project can move forward.
Find the answer that moves your project forward
A useful answer depends on what you already know. If you have a drawing, start with material and tolerance. If you only have an application, start with service conditions and the failure you need to prevent.

Send enough detail for a useful recommendation
Part definition
Drawing, dimensions, sample, profile section, or a photo with a scale reference.
Service conditions
Temperature, fluid, weather, pressure, movement, wear, cleaning, and expected life.
Material direction
Known compound, hardness range, color, reinforcement, finish, or compliance need.
Order plan
Prototype quantity, annual demand, delivery location, packing, and target schedule.
Define the part before discussing price
Geometry, tolerance and mating conditions usually change tooling, process and inspection more than the material name alone.
Choose rubber around the actual environment
Weather and water
EPDM is a common starting point for outdoor weathering, ozone and water exposure. Confirm fluid, temperature and compression requirements.
Oil and fuel
NBR is often considered for oil resistance, but the actual oil type, temperature and immersion time still matter.
Heat and cleanliness
Silicone can support high- and low-temperature applications and clean colored parts. Mechanical strength and fluid exposure must still be checked.

Use the sample to approve specific decisions
- Material sample: color, texture, hardness and general feel.
- Prototype part: fit, assembly and critical geometry.
- Production-intent sample: tooling, process, finish and inspection plan.
- Packed sample: labeling, protection and shipment presentation.
Sample cost and lead time depend on tooling, material availability, process and the level of validation required.
Questions that affect tooling, consistency and release
Commercial details are confirmed against the actual part
| Question | What determines the answer | What to send |
|---|---|---|
| MOQ | Compound batch, process, tooling, size and packing | Part, material, quantity and annual demand |
| Lead time | Tooling, material, sample approval and production load | Required delivery date and approval plan |
| Payment | Order value, tooling and commercial terms | Company and destination details |
| Shipping | Weight, volume, urgency and destination | Postcode/port and preferred Incoterm |
